Model making mayhem at Scouts tonight. We’ll done everyone getting a rubber band plane made from scratch, flying, doing loops and then through a hoop
Well done today to all Cubs and Scouts who turned out to dish out over 3000 bottles of water and clear up afterwards. We ran 2 stations at High Row and Abbey Rd and I was told by several runners and the organisers what an awesome job was done by all. Credit to Scouting
Message from Wendy Littlewood (10k Organising team)
“Please pass on a massive well done and thanks to the Darlington Scouts, cubs and beavers who were a fantastic help at the Darlington 10k today.
I was so delighted to see them expertly manning the water station on the route and also at the end.
They were excellent and made the run even more special for me and each and every runner.
A real credit to scouting.”
Operation Sanctuary had a change this year, from November to July, and by gum was it a hot one.
We arrived with excitement and went home exhausted.
We had a great day although too hot we set off as together in our 3 groups who each had a leader, we stopped for lunch before setting of in our separate groups.
Relive the “Haggis Chasers” (Group Name) route by following this route
We by luck all caught up with one another in Bear Park before walking on
unfortunately our 3 groups didn’t finish the course and we had 2 catches for 1 team. 1 for the other and final 0 catches for our 3rd
Our team of Scouts without a leader came in 2nd over all in their category, well done to all on a very hot day.
